Features of the Sky Strikeback Hardware and Software.

Sky Strikeback is tailor made to individual customer requirements and offers Vehicle or Vessel and personnel safety with global data communication via the Inmarsat Satellite Network, and supports all Inmarsat-C services including e-mail, position reporting and polling, fax, telex, X.25, as well as communication between Inmarsat-C mobiles.

The extremely compact design and power conserving features make it very attractive for use in AVL (Automatic Vehicle Location), VMS (Vehicle Monitoring System), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), and e-mail applications. It ensures fast and reliable transfer of vital information, e.g. position reporting, data monitoring, messaging, loading and unloading information, route planning, Vehicle / Vessel status etc.

The System features an advanced sleep mode function, enabling both timer and event controlled wake up routines, reducing the typical total power consumption to between 11 mW and 291 mW depending on the reporting interval and alarm armed / disarmed status.

The System includes a number of port options supporting interfacing requirements, such as external data equipment, i.e. a PC, laptop, and message terminal, as well as 5 configurable I/O pins. The input/output control ports being connected to remote sensors, relays, and switches.
It can be interfaced directly on its 18 pole female plug, as well as the external RS-232 plug, via the Interconnection Breakout Box.

Having built-in Vehicle / Vessel Monitoring System features including pre-programmed go/no-go zones with individual position reporting intervals, sleep mode, as well as detection of antenna/GPS blockage and disconnection.

All input and output ports, settings of position reporting intervals, as well as VMS Vehicle / Vessel Monitoring System configuration can be remotely controlled via Vehicle / Vessel Manager Software.

Approved for Land Mobile and Non-SOLAS Maritime applications.
Sky Strikeback PC based communications software is a Windows™ based Global Vehicle tracking program that enables you to track your vehicles, wherever they are, via the Inmarsat-C system.

Manager communicates to Inmarsat-C Land Earth Stations via either PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network), ISDN (integrated services digital network), X.25 (International Telecommunication Union-Telecommunication Standardisation Sector protocol) or the Internet.

Manager is a client / server based program, operating as a multi-user or stand-alone system.

Position reports and data received from a mobile are stored in an Microsoft® Access database. Retrieval of this data is done easily by using ODBC (Driver), for example for SCADA applications.

Send E-mails to your vehicles / Vessels, using Microsoft Outlook in multi-user environments or Microsoft Outlook Express in stand-alone applications.
Email speed 600 bits store and forward.

You can set and control automatic vehicles position reporting from the Vehicle manager, or request a position report whenever needed.

Specific groups of vehicles / Vessels can be surveyed by individual users using the "operations" facility.

Monitor and control handling of incoming alarms from the vehicles / vessels directly in the Vehicle / Vessel Manager.

Monitor several geographical areas at the same time.

Full featured Vehicle tracking program, supporting Land mobile, Maritime and Aeronautical position reports.

Internet access to your mobiles saves landline costs.

Easy messaging, to and from the mobile via e-mail.
Detailed maps show mobile positions and trails on an ordinary PC.

Excellent zooming facilities due to vector map material.

User defined Go or No-go zones applicable for each mobile.
